I am a running coach and strength trainer focused on developing faster, stronger and smarter athletes who will raise the profile of running at home and on the world stage; re-focus the sport on performance and competition; and engage a wide audience of athletes, participants and spectators.
As a blogger, I focus on sports science & nutrition, sports psychology, and the intersection of sport and culture.
And as a University of Texas grad student, Hook 'em Horns!
" I'm tired of seeing this sport be homogenized and brushed aside. Track and field (and distance running) is a competitive sport for the world's elite athletes. It's time we took the necessary steps to ensure that the sport is treated that way. Professional T&F athletes should be treated as professional athletes. Period. The system and culture of the sport today needs to change if there's ever going to be any hope of convincing sponsors, the media and people outside the sport that T&F is a sport and not an exercise, activity or hobby. TFAA is a huge step towards holding the governing institutions accountable to the athletes, and restoring the professional ranks of the sport."
